BIG SCALP FOR CLONDUFF U13 HURLERS

U-13 Hurling League Division 1 Round 3
Full Time in Clonduff: Clonduff 5-3 V Ballygalget 3-6

Clonduff U13 hurlers had a fantastic win against a very strong Ballygalget side on Friday evening 28th April in Clonduff Park. Ballygalget, who are currently top of Div 1 came into the game on the back of big wins against fellow Ards teams Portaferry and Ballycran and were strongly fancied to continue their unbeaten run.

However, Clonduff were not overawed by the strong reputation of the Ards club and surged ahead into a strong lead in the first few minutes which they never relinquished throughout the whole game. Ballygalget repeatedly fought back to within a few points but a few late scores from Clonduff saw them pull away again to secure a fantastic three point victory.

The standard of skill on display from both teams was extremely high throughout the game and Clonduff showed that they were more than a match for the very best in the county with their handling, striking and blocking skills.

Their division 1 campaign continues next Friday when they will face another stern challenge away to Portaferry.

Team: Back row (l-r) Rory Magee, James Morgan, McKenzie Sheffield, Tiernan Murney, Shay Murray, Dáithí Barber, Killian Cuthbert; Front row (l-r) James Shields, Adam Fox, Daniel Rooney, Mark McCoy, Martin Havern.
