Between 11pm on Tuesday 17th and 9 am on Wednesday 18th January 2012 mindless vandals entered Clonduff Juvenile pitch in cars and created havoc by doing ‘donuts’ in many areas of the pitch. In a couple of places there are gouges six inches deep. We believe that these people are from the area or close proximity and someone knows who they are – the cars were bound to be clogged with muck as the field was quite wet and large chunks of soil were carried out onto the tarmac.
The people of Clonduff and particularly the youngsters are the losers here – this is the pitch that is used for juvenile training and games up to age 16. The pitch is unusable just as the new season is about to get under way. If you or someone you know has any information it is your civic duty to inform the authorities – the police are on the case.
