CLONDUFF YOUNGSTERS INTO ULSTER SCÓR NA nÓG FINALS 2019

In the first Ulster semi-final in Silverbridge on Saturday afternoon 8th December 2018. the Down Champions, of which Clonduff had three, were up against their counterparts from Armagh, Monaghan and Donegal. As expected, the competition was fierce and with only two places available in each discipline the youngsters had to be on the top of their game to catch the attention of the adjudicators. And that is indeed what Down competitors did – they were successful in five of the seven disciplines! Clonduff’s Solo Singer, Aoife Trainor had the big crowd and the adjudicator spell-bound with her rendition of Slán Abhaile. The final competition of the evening was Set Dancing and the last act was the young Clonduff team and they never put a foot wrong in their Waterford Set to secure their place. Hard luck to Brian McGreevy who performed his recitation impeccably but he was pipped at the post!
A massive well done to the other Down Competitors who made it through to the Ulster Final, again in Silverbridge on Saturday 12th January 2019 – Mayobridge Ceili Dancers, Glasdrumman Ballad Group, Drumaness Leíruí (Stage Presentation)
