GARY MURRAY U12 MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT 2019

23 teams from Down, Armagh and Louth converged in Clonduff Park on Saturday 18th May for the annual Gary Murray U12 Football Tournament which has been running continuously since 1976. It was a great festival of football and the weather was not too unkind. The teams played in five groups with the five winners and the next best three placed played off for the Cup. The bottom team in each group played off for the Plate. All the middle placed teams played off for the Shield. In the final roundup Fr Rock’s Cookstown beat Ballyholland in the Cup Final; St Peter’s Lurgan defeated Castlewellan in the Shield Final; Rostrevor best An Riocht in the Plate Final.
Rostrevor All went great thanks Anita. PO, Paudie and crew were top class and all ran very smoothly. Player of the Tournament for the Lily Murray Cup was Sean Devlin from Fr Rocks’.
Massive Thank You from the Murray Family and Clonduff Club to all who participated; to those involved in organisation/running in the lead up and on the day itself and the clean up after; referees, administrators etc and Goretta, Noleen and Shane in the Club Shop. As usual the parents were very generous in the provision of eatables for the lunch – everyone was well fed and watered. The visitors were very complimentary and everybody went away very happy.
