ST PATRICK’S GIRLS IN FIRST EVER SCHOOLS FINAL 2018

Maybe it was nerves but the girls in the school’s first ever Ladies Football Final could not get to grips with the physically bigger and more experienced Carrick (Burren) girls in the first half. They went in trailing 0-6 to 0-1 at half time. They came out a different team in the blistering sun in Burren on Wednesday morning (27th June) and held the Home side scoreless with some fantastic heroics at the back particularly goalkeeper Niamh McGivern. However it just wasn’t to be their day and Burren took the honours on a score of 0-6 to 0-5. Well done all and to your school and club mentors.

The girls all play either U10 or U12 Football for Clonduff are pictured with their school coaches Shay Flanagan (l) and Plunkett McConville (r)
