STALEMATE IN JUNIOR HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL 2017

Clonduff 1-11 Ballela 0-14 – THEY NEED TO DO IT ALL AGAIN!

This was a fabulous game of hurling to watch IF YOU WERE A NEUTRAL otherwise bad for the heart!
The first half was fast moving and skilful with Clonduff going in at half time leading 1-7 to 0-8 – the goal coming off the stick of Lorcan Branagan.
The Heavens opened at half time and continued for most of the rest of the game making for mistakes and poor finishing. Clonduff were playing into the driving rain at this stage. They were awarded a penalty which resulted in a point after the keeper got his stick to it. With two minutes remaining Clonduff were a point ahead – Ballela pointed a free to level up. Clonduff made one more foray up the field but after it broke down a free out was awarded and then the final whistle blew.
Replay likely to be in two weeks’ time.
