CLONDUFF HOSTS COUNTY CAMOGIE FEILE 2026

On Saturday 11th April, we proudly hosted the County Camogie Féile. Despite blustery conditions, the rain thankfully stayed away for most of the day, allowing for a fantastic day of camogie.

The day began with a parade from the chapel car park to the pitch, where Roisin Monaghan beautifully performed the National Anthem to get proceedings underway.

We were drawn in a strong group alongside Darragh Cross, Ballygalget, Mayobridge, An Riocht and Warrenpoint. After a narrow defeat in their opening game, the girls showed great determination and improvement as the day progressed, battling their way to the final. In a thrilling decider, they were narrowly beaten by Darragh Cross—having already overcome them in the group stages.

A huge thank you to our Camogie Committee for organising such a successful event. With early morning pitch inspections, it was touch and go, but thankfully everything went ahead. Sincere thanks also to our players, mentors and committee members who helped throughout the day with stewarding, pitch coordination, scorekeeping, fixtures, first aid and teas. To our club shop and burger stall team—thank you. The hot food and tea were very welcome on such a cold day, and as one visiting player said, “they were very tasty!” Thanks also to our parents who provided sandwiches and buns, which were greatly appreciated by mentors and visitors alike, and to those who gave their time to umpire matches. Finally, to our stars of the day—our team. Although the result didn’t go our way, you should be incredibly proud of your performances. You represented the club brilliantly. Keep up the good work Well done to the management team of Shauna, Karen and Sinead.

Congratulations to Lily McPolin on being awarded Clonduff’s MVP. Well done also to the overall winners: Kilcoo (Cup), Darragh Cross (Shield) and Ben Dearg (Plate).

A sincere thank you once again to everyone who contributed to making the day such a success. We’ve received many lovely messages which is all greatly appreciated
