“Brilliant, skilful, powerful”, words used by many to describe the Clonduff U8 footballers on Saturday 3rd October 2009.
The U8s travelled to neighbouring club, Burren to compete in the annual tournament in aid of Southern Area Hospice. Hot on the heels of their great victory at Moy, both teams were outstanding in their performances.
The ‘B’ team, undefeated in Moy, progressed through another tournament undefeated to lift the Hospice Plate. Well done boys pictured here with their mentor John Norris.
Like their team-mates the ‘A’ team, also undefeated in The Moy, progressed through as winners of their group undefeated meeting Mayobridge in the semi-final, showing great determination as they came from 4pts down to win by 5pts after extra time. Things didn’t go their way when the boys lost a tightly contested Cup final, by only 1pt to hosts, Burren. An amazing game of football by such young players.
U8 management would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all players on their fantastic performances this season, to wish all those joining the U10 squad continued success and to thank parents and supporters for their help and dedication in making this an enjoyable season.
