On Saturday 20th March 2010 just before the Down v Armagh League game the Down County Board recognised five Down Schools teams that had collected Ulster and/or All Ireland titles within the last couple of weeks – St Colman’s (MacRory Cup and Corn na nÓg), St Mark’s (McDevitt Cup), SRC – formerly The Tech (All Ireland Over 19 Vocational Schools Cup) and St Malachy’s (Markey Cup), the latter being the only one without a Clonduff representatives. Most of the Clonduff representatives on the night are pictured here with former Clonduff Great, Cathal Murray (Coach of the MacRory Cup team) – there are 17 St Colman’s students (nine MacRory Cup and eight Corn na nÓg), five of the six St Mark’s Lads and Mark Downey (SRC). If you add in James Killen who won a Freshers medal with UCD, the future looks good for Clonduff (as well as Down, of course). Having 25 boys on these successful teams is testimony to the work being done at club level by the Clonduff coaches. (Also missing from the photo is SRC joint coach Mark Copeland).
