The 18th Annual Connor McConville Primary Schools Tournament was held in Clonduff Park on Thursday 7th June 2012. Fifteen teams participated in the competition which was strongly contested throughout the various rounds. The competition was eventually won by St Malachy’s P.S. Kilcoo who beat St Colman’s Annaclone in the final.
The presentations were made by County player Arthur McConville (Connor’s Brother) pictured above with his parents Arty Noel and Roisin and Kilcoo Captain Shelan Johnston. Clonduff GAA Club PRO, Jerry Quinn spoke on behalf of the McConville family and thanked the schools involved, the referees on the day, and in particular St Patrick’s Primary School, Hilltown and teachers Maeve McNeill and Plunkett McConville for their efforts in promoting the tournament. Mrs Kathleen Cousins, Principal of St Patrick’s Primary School also thanked the McConville family for giving the school the opportunity to host such a prestigious event. The event has now become an established date in the end-of-year Primary Schools calendar.
