U14s IN SOUTH DOWN CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL 2013

Facing the All Ireland U14 Feile Champions was always going to be a big ask and when both teams took the field in Saval on Saturday afternoon (14th Sept) it looked truly daunting such was the difference in height and physique of the Burren lads. Burren lived up to their reputation and rattled in three quick goals and one point before the Yellas realised they were in a game. From then on they matched Burren score for score until the end of the half. Clonduff started the second half they way Burren started the first and rattled in two quick goals to reduce the deficit to five points to rattle the All Ireland Champions. For much of the rest of the second half Clonduff continued to give as good as they got except that Burren tended to score goals underlying they All Ireland status. According to the scoreboard they did run out easy winners but the result was no reflection on the actual game.
The boys and their families were treated to a post-match meal in the Clubrooms upon their return from Saval.
