MOY U12 TOURNAMENT 2014

The U12s had an early start on Saturday Morning travelling through the Orchard County and crossing the Blackwater River to play in the Moy Tournament. 26 teams in total took part in the Tournament from 8 counties.
In the ’round robin’ format, Clonduff played some excellent football against Cappagh and Derrylaughanm (Tyrone), Ardara (Donegal) and St Brigid’s (Belfast). The games were marked with good scoring and strong, attacking football with Clonduff coming away with 5 wins from eight matches which placed them into the top tier and the ‘Cup’ group for the knock out stages.
During the break and the sandwiches the talk was all about who would we get in quarter finals and when Errigal Ciaran came up it brought back memories of 2000 and the Ulster Club Championship. Unfortunately the result went the same way as Clonduff was beaten by what was a stronger team on the day.
All agreed that it was a highly enjoyable day and well worth the journey – It was great meeting up with former team mates, Eoghan and Ciarán Smith who moved to Sligo a couple of years ago and were attending the tournament with their Club, Drumcliffe.
