The Clonduff Footballers travelled to Lámh Dearg (Belfast) on Saturday 19th June 2010 to compete for the first time in the Joe Herron Cup. Their first game was against Ardoyne Kickhams (Belfast), a closely contested match with Clonduff winning by one point in the end. (Clonduff 2-3 Ardoyne 1-5). Next in their section Clonduff came up against the first of the hosting club’s teams. The travelling side ran out easy winners in this game, with Clonduff’s Cathal Maginn putting in a titanic performance to score 2goals and 2points, final score Clonduff 7-6 Lamh Dearg (B) 1-3. Clonduff proceeded to the semi final stages where they met the second Lámh Dearg side in the competition. Antrim captain Paddy Cunningham led the side and contributed to the home side clocking up a scoreline of 5-1 to 0-1 at halftime, Clonduff appeared in the second half firing on all cylinders and managed to keep the home side scoreless whilst scoring 5-1 to win by one point and proceed to the final. Clonduff 5-2 Lámh Dearg (A) 5-1. Their opponents for the final where Creggan and after normal and additional time the sides were even (Clonduff 3-9 Creggan 2-12), and it went to penalty shoot-outs. Clonduff goal keeper Paul McPolin saved 2 out of 3 penalties (the third shot went wide), Arthur McConville converted his penalty and Clonduff won the Joe Herron Cup.
