Congratulations to Clonduff Minor Footballers who secured the All County League in top-of-the-table clash with Saval in Clonduff Park on Sunday afternoon (14th October 2012). Throughout the season they just lost one and drew one of their 13 league games. The final score was Clonduff 2-13 Saval 0-7 – the team that had knocked Clonduff out of Championship by 2 points at Quarter Final. Well done to the team and the management.
The boys are pictured above with mentors Artie Noel McConville (l) and P J McGreevy (r). Well done everybody!
The highlights in a low scoring first half were a well taken goal by Liam McGreevy and a fantastic save just before halftime by Liam McAleavey. This left Clonduff four points up at half time. In the second half, the team showed their true quality with a great all round team display, out-scoring Saval
1-8 to 0-3, Rory McQuaid coming up from half back to score a great goal. After the game Captain Conor Brown was presented with the cup by William James Smith, Vice Chairperson, Down County Board.
