Many congratulations to Down Captain and Clonduff mainstay defender who was voted (by the readers) as Irish News GAA All Star left corner back 2017 following Down’s exploits in the Ulster Championship, reaching the final. Darren was presented with his award at a Gala Dinner in Armagh City Hotel on Thursday 7th September. He was joined by fellow Down players Kilcoo’s Darragh O’Hanlon (LHB) and Glasdrumman’s Connaire Harrison (full forward).
Darren is only the second Clonduff man to win an Irish News All Star Award – Ross Carr, who was in the audience for Darren’s award, received the Right Half Forward spot in 1998
