Clonduff U16 Hurlers collected the Shield title on Sunday afternoon (8th November) in Burren when then defeated Warrenpoint in a hard-fought but deserving victory on a scoreline of 4-8 to 2-7.
Clonduff travelled to Burren on Sunday past to play a strong, physical Warrenpoint side in the Shield Final. The ‘Yellas’ started off the better of the two sides, scoring the opening point. Clonduff then went on to dominate the first half with very fine scores. The attacking force of Clonduff worked hard, and the defenders can be very proud of the way they handled their opposition. In the second half, Warrenpoint piled on a lot of pressure. Despite this pressure, Clonduff kept their cool and saw off any threat to win by a margin of 7 points. This fantastic win ensured that Clonduff U16 Hurlers have won both the League AND the Championship! A brilliant performance by an extremely promising underage hurling team! The management would also like to take this opportunity to thank all parents and supporters for their help throughout the entire season.
