The Senior Hurlers started life in Division One with a defeat to near neighbours Warrenpoint on a cold and wintry Monday night, playing under the lights facilitating the later start of 7.30pm.
The step up in standard from Division Two was noticeable both for ‘first touch’ and physicality. Clonduff started the first half defending the Hilltown goals and open strongly with early scores from Christopher Young and Mark Downey. In defence, the half back line of Sean Downey, Shay Murnin and new daddy, Danny Nugent were showing strongly. Final Score Clonduff 0-7 Warrenpoint 1-11
