South Down Scór Sinsir finals 2009 took place in Saval on Sunday 15th February when, to mark the 40th anniversary of the founding of Scór, 22 of the 23 South Down football clubs were represented. This was the result of the hard work and ‘coercing’ abilities of a very dynamic Scór Committee.
Saval Hall was packed to capacity with most of the clubs vowing not to let their efforts be just a ‘one off’ and build on what was achieved in 2009.
Three new cups were presented – Cathal Sands Memorial Cup (Most Improved Scór na nÓg Club) to St Michael’s (presented by Michael and Lily Sands); Moya McCormack Memorial Cup (Most Improved Scór Sinsear Club) to Rostrevor (presented by Feargal & Roisin McCormack); Peter Keenan Memorial Cup (Best Overall South Down Club) to Ballyholland (presented by Evelyn and Nichole Keenan).
