Each year the Ulster Council runs a week-long Language and Cultural event in Downings, Co Donegal with a concert of Scór competitors on the Wednesday night and this event in 2009 took place on Wednesday 22nd July. A big contingent from Down, mainly Clonduff, travelled to Downings on Wednesday morning and made an overnight stay and what a night it turned out to be! Clonduff Set Dancers, Novelty Act and Juvenile musicians took part in the formal proceedings in honour of Paddy McFlynn’s book launch. (Paddy is a former National President of GAA 1979-1982). The group then retired to their hotel for a Seisún until the wee small hours of Thursday morning. In Joe Farrell’s words ‘We’ll have to do two nights next year’! Roll on!
