Following the first ever Brian McGreevy U8 Memorial Tournament on Saturday 25th August, 2007, Dean A Davies, PP (Club President) blessed the newly erected plaque to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the death of Brian McGreevy, Captain of the Clonduff team who died on the field of play on 21st May 1957. This tragedy happened in Saval while playing Carrickcruppin in a Tournament game. Just before half time, Brian, in going for the ball and keeping his eye on it, whilst moving backwards, fell and failed to rise again. Pictured here is Brian’s remaining brother, Seamus (Gerry died in June 2007) in the centre with Club Secretary Tommy Kelly, PRO Jerry Quinn, and on the right Dean A Davies, Club President and Brian McGreevy (jnr), Gerry’s son, current Club Chairman.
