The Choir Studio held their annual ‘Carols by Candlelight’ service in The Dominican Church Newry on Sunday 19th December 2021 and donated the proceeds of their Just Giving Page to support 8-year-old Ella Cowan and her family.
Ella who is from Hilltown and a pupil of St Patrick’s Primary School plays Ladies Football for Clonduff U9 team. She was diagnosed with a brain tumour in early September and underwent critical life saving surgery to have the tumour removed. This was followed by continuous bouts of radiotherapy and impending chemotherapy sessions beginning in the new year.
Marie Grant (LGFA Mentor) and her family attended the service on behalf of Clonduff Club and read an appropriate Bidding Prayer. The LGFA in Clonduff had organised a community Rosary for Ella at the start of her illness – it was very well attended and included her brother and sisters and members of the wider family.
