Many congratulations to our U15 dual player (Hurling/Football) Ethan O’Kane on winning the U15 title at the World Junior Championships in Amsterdam on 31st July.
Ethan is a member of the Cathal Fegan TaeKwondo Club in Newry. He is is the current Irish U55kg Champion and was representing Ireland in Amsterdam in the U18 age group. He competed in the European Championships last autumn.
Ethan started TaeKwondo when he was 7 years old in Cathal’s branch in Warrenpoint. Tania McShane ran it for him while he concentrated on Silverbridge club (where he lives). She taught Ethan for few years taking him to the colour belt Worlds in Brighton in 2016 where he got a bronze. After the Warrenpoint club closed Cathal opened school in Chequer Hill in Newry which is where Ethan currently does all the hard work as well as attending training/games for both football and hurling in Clonduff Club.
