Massive congratulations to our Set Dancers who have been crowned Ulster Champions tonight (Saturday 21st October) in Omagh St Enda’s magnificent facility at Healy Park.
This is an amazing story worth preserving, four members of the team on All Ireland titles in 1991 and 1993 (they also won Ceili Dancing in 1993 using just 9 different dancers). One of their original tutors Sean Hillen, who along with Joe Farrell introduced them all to Set Dancing passed away toward the end of August 2023 and many of the past dancers attended Sean’s wake and funeral. There and then, as a tribute to Sean they decided to enter a team in the next month’s Scór Sinsir – they collected the County Title and in the Ulster Semi Final qualified for the Ulster Final. and as the saying goes, the rest is history!
