Clonduff boys had an early start on Saturday morning 11th May 2024 to commence Feile Peil na nÓg in Bredagh at 9.30 – the game having been brought forward an hour to facilitate attendance at the Down Senior men’s game in the first round of the Tailteann Cup in Newry @ 4pm.
The Clonduff boys played in a 5-team group with Bryansford, Bredagh, RGU Downpatrick and Castlewellan and emerged runners up to the eventual winners Bredagh. They then faced the winners of the other group Burren in the semi finals. They gave a great account of themselves, having played a game more (4 teams in that group) and just fell short, losing by two points.
Every boy got plenty of game time as the ethos of Feile insists upon and they thoroughly enjoyed the morning. Many thanks to the parents for transporting them to Bredagh and to the mentors for giving up their day to look after the boys.
