Our U10 Hurlers went on a road trip to Portaferry on Sunday 2nd June with 2 teams. After a bit of drama with the boat breaking down it had no effect on the boys and how they played.
The teams showed great improvement in their picking up skills and competed well in rucks. Some great blocking with hurls up and strong striking too. They held their team shape and positions well.
They came up against Clann Mhurn, Warrenpoint, Newry Shamrocks, Carryduff and Liatroim.
Well done to Conor McConville in competing in his first blitz on the day.
Some of the boys also got to see and hold the Richie McElliott Cup and meet some of the All Ireland winning U20 hurlers – something for them to aspire to.
A well organised blitz and thanks to Portaferry GAC for hosting
We will continue all the hard work in training on Wednesday nights
Thanks to our coaches today Ryan Quinn (l) and Francis Quinn (r)
