We were delighted to welcome San Francisco GAA U15 LGFA Féile Team to Clonduff Park for a mini blitz ahead of their National Féile Campaign. on Saturday 22nd June. The National Féile takes place on Saturday 29th June, and San Fran have arrived in Ireland a little earlier to get some practice in before the event.

We have a long-standing link to San Francisco GAA with many family links down through the years and they certainly haven’t forgotten their roots. One of the San Francisco GAA co-ordinators is our own former dual player Eamonn McCusker who has travelled back to his ‘homeland’ ahead of the Féile event.

It was fantastic evening of Ladies Gaelic and special thanks to neighbouring clubs Rostrevor and Warrenpoint for joining us for the occasion.

The event started with a beautiful rendition of Amhrán na bhfiann from Scór Singer Vivienne Mulcahy, and then the action began across 2 pitches with teams rotating.

Light refreshments were served in the club rooms after the games and everyone enjoyed the atmosphere whilst watching the nail-biting finish to the Derry V Mayo game.

The San Francisco club made a lovely presentation of a framed ‘San Fran’ jersey to club chairman Ross, who thanked everyone for attending and wished San Francisco the best of luck with their Féile Campaign.

Thank you to everyone who helped in any way to make the evening such a great success; match officials, photographers, shop volunteers, those who helped in the clubrooms & the workers who cleared up afterwards.
