Many Congratulations to Down Senior Footballers who annexed the Tailteann Cup on Saturday 13th July 2024, their second successive year in the final but they went one better this year!
The first half was nip and tuck with Down just edging in front after being pegged back by and early Laois goal.
Down upped a gear in the second half and had moved into a five-point lead nearing the final whistle but Laois weren’t done yet! they fired home a wonder goal to close to gap to 2 points but the boys in red and black were able to hold on to collect the trophy!
Well done to Eamon Brown, Ben McConville, all the team and management on this great achievement! Onwards and upwards now!
