Friday evening, 30th August 2024, was a gloriously sunny evening in Clonduff Park, for the Clonduff All Stars Youngsters. When the fun and games ended there was a real party atmosphere – drinks and treats for the All Stars and parents returned to the field after their teas/coffees. All refreshments were sponsored by Shane and Geraldine McPolin.
Club secretary, Anita Brannigan spoke to the children and their families about the role the All Stars play in Clonduff, and how the numbers have almost doubled from the initial meeting in Cabra Community Association Hall. This couldn’t have happened if the parents hadn’t bought into it, nor could it have happened if the huge numbers of volunteers hadn’t come forward and Clonduff Club embraced the philosophy of ‘GAA for All’.
Anita introduced Youth Officer Bernard Branagan and Senior Players from all Codes – Arthur McConville, Darren O’Hagan (Football), John Murphy, Fionnbharr Murphy (Hurling), Onagh McClorey, Martina Carvill (LGFA), Clare McGilligan, Clara Cowan (Camogie) who had come along to help with the presentation of the new jerseys, sponsored by Clonduff Club, to the All Stars. The delight on the children’s faces was something to behold.
Bernard closed the formal proceedings by thanking everyone – the children, their families, the volunteers and the senior players for being part of the evening, showing just what an inclusive Club the Clonduff is.
It was such a beautiful evening, in every respect, children, family members and volunteers were happy to hang around for photos and to leave the pitch ship-shape for the next team coming to train.
