Christmas in Hilltown Friday evening!!!
Hilltown will get into the festive mood this Friday 6th December 2024 at the Christmas lights switch-on and the whole community is getting involved, with fun for all the family.
Local choir singers and musicians from Clonduff Comhaltas will perform Christmas carols and traditional tunes in the village square from 6.30pm on Friday 6th December.
Santa will be arriving, of course, in time for the lights to go on at 7pm, and he wants to see all the children in costume this year, so be sure to wear your best dress-up gear! Follow him to afterwards to the Youth Club for hot drinks and chocolate on sale with Christmas treats.
The Youth Club is hosting a whole range of fun arts and crafts and Christmas games to entertain the children when their parents’ queue for coffee and a bun! Everyone will visit Santa in his magical grotto and receive a small gift. The cost is £5 per child and all proceeds go to Clonduff Youth Club. Clonduff Playgroup will also be selling tickets for their Big Christmas Raffle.
For those whose Santa days are done, head over to a roaring fire in the Tipsy Cow, for storytelling and music with Colum Sands, the Mourne Storytellers and Clonduff Comhaltas. Tickets cost £10 and the Comhaltas will serve complimentary mulled wine and home-made mince pies.
