Hard luck to St Patrick’s Primary School Camogie team who were defeated by 2 points in Cumann na mBunscoil final on Saturday 21st June.
A gallant effort girls and you all should be very proud of yourselves. A special mention to our musicians Cara, Ava, Katie and Aoife who were participating in the county Fleadh on the same morning in Castlewellan and had to get to Burren for 12! Thank you parents for all your help in getting the girls there on time. Good luck to Ava who was heading back to Castlewellan for more competition.
Although we didn’t get the result on the field the word had come through at the end that Cara had come first and is now Down U12 Fleadh Champion in accordion and Ava came first in the Uillean pipes and is also the Down champion. Bittersweet ending. Congratulations Cara and Ava and good luck to Emily, Cara, Katie and Aoife who are playing the group tomorrow.
