Portaferry : 3-4 Clonduff: 2-12
Clonduff u14s topped their qualification group and are straight through to the championship semi-final following a hard fought win away to Portaferry in their final group game on Friday 16th August 2024.
In a tense and close fought encounter, it was Portaferry who initially had the upper hand following an early goal, but Clonduff fought back well and the sides were all square at the half time break.
A strong start to the second half saw Clonduff surge into a 6-point lead, but two Portaferry goals in quick succession left it all square again with 10 minutes to go. However, a flurry of late points and a goal from a penalty took Clonduff 5 clear again and they held on to take the spoils.
Having topped their qualification group unbeaten, they now progress straight to the semi final, with the date and opposition to be confirmed after next week’s two quarter finals.
