In July 2009, young Ben McConville went to Marbella, Spain on his holidays with his parents Paddy (Sid) and Sharon and the rest of his family. Ben joined the ‘International Gaelic Football Academy’ (local Cúl Camp) which is run by some high profile Gaelic Football players and none higher than Peter Canavan, pictured on the left with Paddy and Ben following Ben’s award for the ‘U10 Player of the Week’.
On the right Paddy and Ben are pictured with Bernard Flynn (Former Meath player and current RTE pundit). Also in the picture is Daire Matthews, son of former Clonduff player Mark whose family were also on holiday at the time.
