Clonduff U16s won the Peter Walsh Tournament played in Bryansford. They had good wins over All Saints (Ballymena), St John’s and Bryansford which was good enough to get them to the Final against An Riocht, who had beaten them in the group stages.
The final was a close fought game with Clonduff emerging winners on 0-9 to 1-4 scoreline after extra time. It was a game Clonduff dominated mainly due to some outstanding fielding by Aaron Sherry and Shay Murnin at midfield. Shay Murnin was captain for the day and the young Danny Burns picked up the ‘Player of the Tournament’ award.
In all, the boys played two hours football and had too many outstanding performers in the 22 players to single anyone out. They all played their part in an enjoyable day’s football and Clonduff wishes to thank the Bryansford Club for their invite and great hospitality to all who attended.
