CHRISTMAS GOURMET EVENING 2011

Clonduff Camogs joined forces with Morgan Meats Hilltown to host a Gourmet evening in the Clubrooms on Friday 2nd December 2011.
Guests were treated to a Christmas scene of tantalising aromas and tastes for the festive season. Mulled wine, mince pies covered in Brandy and cream, and other refreshments were served to guests on arrival.
Doing the honours was Chef Patracia McClean joined by colleagues from the Southern Region College Ann Murray and Theresa Keenan O’Connor.
Patracia had patrons spellbound with her menu of Thai Beef Noodles, Smokey Lentil soup, sweet and sour turkey with braised rice, Turkey a la King, and finally Christmas Cake with Filo Mince parcels.
Following the demonstration by Mrs McClean her colleague Ann Murray gave a demonstration on table settings and napkin folding and Mrs. O’Connor did desserts.
Complimenting the work of the chefs were a number of stands.

Imelda’s Cup Cakes, -Mrs. Imelda Rooney accompanied by her daughter Marie McNamee and son Eugene who also displayed a wide range of Christmas cakes and other Christmas goodies.
Barleywood Flowers -Mrs. Mags Graham gave a demonstration of flower arranging and presented a number of arrangements.
Jamie Oliver Cookware -Gail Graham.
Crafts and Jewellery -Alice Murphy who had on show a variety of art work and personally designed Christmas decorations and Jewellery.
Speaking at the end of the event Guinevra McGilligan chairperson of the Clonduff Camogie club thanked Colm Morgan and Patracia McClean for staging the event, Noreen Tumilty and Teresa Carr and everyone else who had worked to make the evening a success.
