CLONDUFF ARE IRISH NEWS CLUB OF THE YEAR 2015

Clonduff GAA Club was selected as 2015 Large Club of the Year at a function in The Wellington Park Hotel Belfast on Friday 8th February 2015.
In introducing the awards, John Brolly of The Irish News singled out Clonduff’s bold step of not ‘streaming’ children at U12 and below, focussing instead on commitment and attitude, as recommended in their 5-year plan. The club’s own training manual was highlighted as was the Club Shop, the engagement of girls in Handball and the commitment of Clonduff to cement and maintain their status as ‘The Hub of the Community’,
Members of the Ulster GAA Council were involved in the adjudication process and were present at the event which was also attended by Ulster President Martin McAvinny and The Irish News Sports Writers, representatives from ‘Volunteer Now’, O’Neills Sportswear, 3FiveTwo Healthcare and the Wellington Park Hotel all of whom support the awards now in their 13th year. Clonduff was represented by Brendan Murray (Chairperson), Anita Brannigan (Secretary) and Lorraine Bloomfield (Treasurer). To round off a great day, Lorraine was the lucky winner of two tickets to any Ulster Championship game of her choice. (The above photo was taken by Irish News Sports Journalist Kenny Archer).
