Congratulations to the New York Down team who won the Senior Championship in New York on Sunday 4th October – they were beaten in the Final last year, having previously won the Junior and Intermediate Championships. Down is currently managed by Clonduff ex pat Ciarán Fearon (extreme left back row) and the Chairman of the Club is another ex pat Eugene O’Hagan [Player of the Year last season was on sub bench as he is carrying an injury (6th from right front row wearing No 21)]. Down beat Cork by 2 points, Man of the Match was Packie Downey [Drumgath (5th from left back row wearing No 14)]. The celebrations went on to the early hours of the morning. The training bibs the Clonduff Chairman sent to them must have brought them luck!
