CLONDUFF GIRLS MAKE CLUB HISTORY BY WINNING CLUB’S FIRST EVER LGFA FEILE COMPETITION!
Following the presentation of the new tops, the Clonduff team and mentors set off bright and early for Darver on the 4th June 2022 to compete in Regional Feile Finals for Div 2 title.
They were pitted against Belcoo (Fermanagh), Tyholland (Monaghan) and Ardboe (Tyrone) in the group stage. Despite a hefty breeze blowing down the pitch the girls in Yellow made light of it and won all their group games with confident ease with the entire squad getting game time in all the games. They therefore, topped the group to face the runners up in the other group, Cornafean (Cavan). Clonduff played against the wind in the first half and were only slightly ahead at half time. However, after the changeover, the girls got into gear and ran out easy winners to make their way into the final.
Tyholland had been runners up in Clonduff’s group but went on to beat the winners of the other group. Clonduff played against the wind in the first half and in truth the game was over by half time and again all the girls got game time in this momentous game. There were fantastic scenes of jubilation following the final whistle. Eventually, the presentation was made to joint captains Clare Green and Lily Rafferty.
