CLONDUFF KAROKE TREADATHON 2013

What a great event the Karaoke Treadathon turned out to be! This novel fundraising idea brought the young and not so young members of Clonduff GAA Club together with the common goal of raising funds for the newly refurbished clubrooms. The younger members got proceedings under way at 4pm on Friday 15th March 2013 and the not so young brought it to a conclusion somewhere around 4am on Saturday 16th March.
There were five treadmills on the go (with one in reserve) and each participant was allotted a 20 min slot – the treadmills were all donated for the event and to those people who did so we say a big ‘thank you’. The Juvenile session ended at 8pm when the Club Chairman, Brendan Murray got things under way for the adults. The craic and banter was mighty and those brave and/or fit enough gave some ‘amazing’ performances at the Karaoke whilst doing their run, walk or crawl.
We owe a great debt of gratitude to the Friends of Clonduff and especially the organisers Orla, Carol and Martin and also to the Bar and Social Club staff who kept the refreshments, burgers and chips in constant supply.
A big ‘thank you’ to those who donated prizes for the raffle/auction – Macs Bar (Wine), Spar Hilltown (Large Easter Egg), Edel Lennon (Beauty Voucher), Diamonds Restaurant (Meal Voucher), Lorraine Bloomfield (His & Hers Bathrobe set), Rory Maginn (Bottle Jameson), Orla Maginn (St Patrick’s Day edition Down Jersey), Paul McShane (Signed Down Jersey for auction [bought by Miceál Crilly], and Best Dressed [118 118 – Orla Gribben, Therese McStay, Jackie Gilmore])
A great night/early morning was had by all, even the bank manager!
