CLONDUFF ‘STEP TOGETHER’ FOR SUICIDE AWARENESS

It was a glorious afternoon on Sunday 18th May when members of Clonduff GAA Club set out on their walk up the Hen Mountain track to raise awareness of Suicide and Mental Health.

It was vital that people completed the walk, talk and picnic in groups – after the first quarter of a mile, the more energetic decided to climb Hen Mountain – (some of the men and their little ones), whilst the rest continued on the Hen Track to complete the 1 mile walk. Both groups enjoyed their drinks, snacks and a natter before heading back to base where everyone met up again for a final group photo.

Club Chair, Ross thanked the organisers Shereen and Anita from the Healthy Club Team, saying there was no better way on such a glorious day for ‘clearing the head’ and that if the exercise helps just one person it is certainly a success.

The Clonduff Healthy Club team hope to organise another such day during the summer holidays on the back of the success of this one.

Many thanks to Rory Matthews for sponsoring the bus to take participants from the Club car park out to Hen Mountain and back again and to the ever reliable PO McConville for driving the bus!
