CLONDUFF WINNER OF ULSTER GAA/TRANSLINK AWARD

Handing over the ‘Fruits of 2020’ a fundraising socially distanced walk for local charities – back: Seamus Parr and Karen Rice (organisers); Front: Anita Brannigan (Chair) with Paddy Morgan and Matt McGinn (local St Vincent de Paul). The Southern Area Hospice received the other half of the proceeds.

Congratulations to Clonduff GAA Club, the Official Down GAA winner of the Translink/Ulster GAA Community Support Award for their efforts during the lockdowns occasioned by the pandemic.

The club set up a Community Volunteer Database, covering a cross-section of the community and not solely confined to club members, ran the #Clonduff Connected# Campaign, Coaches availed of Social Media to keep the young players up to speed with their skills, ran a virtual Cultural Season and a cross-community ‘Twelve Days of Christmas’, organised fundraising schemes for local charities, to mention but a few activities. Many thanks to the wonderful community volunteers without whom this award would not have happened.
