Clonduff Parish celebrated World Youth Day Mass (for the second successive year) on Saturday 25th January at 6pm in St. John’s, Ballymaghery. The Mass was celebrated by Clonduff’s newly appointed Vice President Fr Charlie Byrne.
The children and young people from the local playschool, Rathore Special Needs School, the two local Primary Schools (St Patrick’s and St Paul’s), Bunscoil an Íuir, local secondary schools, and universities along with Clonduff Youth Members in Clonduff Club Colours took part in every aspect of the liturgy – this year the theme was #Our Environment’.
There was a big presence of young people and their families with the church packed to capacity – Clonduff Camogs were playing in the All Ireland Intermediate Club Semi Final the next day v Gailltir (whom they defeated in All Ireland Final last year).
Clonduff Scór participants were very much to the fore with the Ulster Scór na nÓg Instrumental Music Finalists supplementing the Liturgical Music from the Altar.
