CLONDUFF’S BOLEY FAIR 2013

The Boley Fair got underway on Friday evening in brilliant sunshine – the best weather for some time. The ‘Clonduffmobile’ was used in the opening parade to transport Boley Fair committee members and dignitaries along the way.

The Camogie Club, as usual, provided light refreshments (tea/coffee, soup, scones, cakes, etc) for Fair goers on Saturday morning and hosted the bread-making competition.

But it was Saturday evening in the Clubrooms that provided the highlight of the entire day, perhaps weekend! Clonduff Club hosted the first ever ‘Pitch to Pole Challenge which involved six Senior Club players, who had undertaken training from El Fegan in in ‘Well Fit Gym’ in Rathfriland over the previous six weeks – if the participants made so much progress in such a short time they could become professionals within a few months!
Neil Trainor was declared the winner but it was close run thing. All the competitors performed amazing routines. Well done Tony McGreevy, Chris Brown, Christina McConville, Andy Quinn, Nicola O’Hagan and Neil. You gave us a marvellous night’s entertainment. Thanks to El Fegan who trained them over the last six to eight weeks and to ‘The Dancing Do

The judges on the night were Helena McCusker, Paul Kelly (Yellow Road), Patricia Brown and one of El’s professional colleagues.
A big thank you to El and her team, the Social Club sub committee,  Kieran Trainor the suave host on the night, the bar and floor staff who helpED the night run so well.
