In 2007 Clonduff was one of the Ulster GAA Clubs to participate in the Club Maith Pilot Scheme – they were awarded Platinum Accreditation and on each renewal (every three years) they have maintained that status.
So what is Club Maith?
Club Maith is a Club accreditation scheme which is unique to the GAA. It allows Clubs to be benchmarked against BEST PRACTICE STANDARDS across the full range of GAA Club Structures. An online portfolio is compiled which encourages clubs to scrutinise and reform/enhance, if necessary, the following structures within the club:
Governance
Community Engagement
Coaching and Games
Creating a Safe Environment
Safeguarding Members
In order for a Club to achieve Platinum Accreditation the Club must have not only have met all the criteria for Gold Level accreditation but must have gone beyond that and and achieved all 100 Club Maith criteria.
After 15 years as a successful Ulster GAA benchmarking tool, Club Maith has now been acquired by Croke Park and will be rolled out across the country. Clonduff GAA Club is delighted to have been there at the beginning and the end of the Ulster-run programme.
