Daniel and his grandparents were certainly smiling down on Daniel’s beloved Clonduff Park on Saturday 20th June – the sun was high in the sky and 26 youthful teams demonstrated all that is good about our Gaelic Games.
Our thoughts were very much with Daniel’s father who had to return to Maderia during the week for the funeral of his father. Thanks to Donna, Lauren and Kara and other family members for being in attendance and for all their help. A great band of ladies turned out to help with the burgers and serving the lunches – thank you very much – it wouldn’t have been the same without you!
We say a big thank you to all the teams who attended from Down, Derry, Tyrone, Armagh, Louth, Meath and Dublin and particularly to our own referees and young referees who gave us great service on the day; Alistair the co-ordinator/administrator and anyone who helped in any way, particularly in the shop or in the tidy-up afterwards.
The day was all about the youngsters – the final results were as follows:
Cup – Kilmacud beat Burren in the Final by 3 points
Shield – Clonduff beat Ballyholland by 2 points in the final
Plate – Bredagh beat Shane O’Neill’s by 4 points in the final
Medallion – Clann na Banna beat Saul
