31 teams from Down, Armagh and Meath attended the annual Daniel Andre U10 Tournament on Saturday 16th June in Clonduff Park. The weather held up much better than expected to allow for a festival of football where the standard was once again extremely high. Four trophies were up for grabs – the usual Cup, Shield and Plate with a new Plaque competition added for ‘C’ Grade teams aptly called ‘The Stars’. Clonduff fielded three teams but were unlucky not to come away with any silverware. Many thanks to all the clubs who attended, our club organisers, U10 parents for their support and the sandwiches, our senior and under age players who refereed games, our Young Volunteers who helped out – Kayleigh McPolin sang the National Anthem before the commencement of the Finals, Goretta, Noleen and Geraldine in the club shop, Sarah Bloomfield who took the photographs and to Shereen and the U14 girls who sold Feile raffle tickets.
Ballyholland were the big winners on the day picking up three of the four trophies:
Cup – Ballyholland Gaels defeated Bryansford
Shield – St John Bosco defeated Glen Emmets
Plate – Ballyholland Ógs defeated Burren Ógs
Plaque – Ballyholland Stars defeated Burren Stars
