Commiserations but well done to Down Senior Camogie team who just failed in their bid to win the Junior A All Ireland title on Sunday 11th September 2011 – they gave themselves a mountain to climb trailing by nine points at the break and fell a further two points behind at the start of the second half. Then they took the bit between their teeth and outplayed three-time finalists Waterford for the remainder of the game but it was just a step too far – the final score was Waterford 2-11 Down 1-13.
The guts, determination and skill shown in the second half showed exactly what the team can do and no doubt they will be back again!
Clonduff participants all of who started and finished the game: Kitty Fegan, Orla Maginn, Fionnuala Carr, Paula Gribben, Lisa McPolin, Karen Gribben and Sara Louise Carr. There was other Clonduff representation on the pitch on the day – Ursula Quinn (County Secretary) and Shannon O’Hagan (Water Carrier). Clonduff were also represented by Brian Canavan as part of the Management team.
