FORMER CLONDUFF PLAYER HONOURED IN SAN FRANCISCO 2009

Sean Spiers won a Senior Football Championship, Senior League and County Sevens medals with Clonduff in 1952 and then emigrated to San Francisco where he continued to play the game. He captained his adopted team to the North American League and Championship in 1961 and 1962.

He was honoured at a special function on Sunday 2nd August 2009. Sean is pictured above receiving his ‘Hall of Fame’ award from GAA President Christy Cooney. Five years earlier (2004), Sean was the recipient of the Clonduff Hall of Fame at the Annual Awards.
