Despite all the other activity on Sunday 12th August 2007, a large crowd of players, mentors and parents attended the presentation on ‘Health and Wellness’ by Sharon Madigan (Dietician) in the clubrooms.
She recommended that in the interests of hygiene, all players should bring his/her own water bottle to both training and games. She said it was vitally important for players not to train or play on an empty stomach and recommended that all players should eat a balanced meal 1½ to 2 hours before the activity.
The Clonduff Club believes this is sound advice and, while water will still be provided in the usual manner, would like everyone to bring his/her own clearly marked water bottle with them and always eat a meal a short time before a match or training.
