Clonduff Clubrooms has become the established venue for the Annual Christmas Pool Tournament organised by the Hilltown Pool League.
Over 30 Players participated. The tournament got under way at 2.00pm. As always the games were played in great spirit with high quality of pool on show. As they got down to the business end of the draw, the Semi Finals were contested by Decky Burns v Tony Greenan which Decky narrowly won 3-2 and in the other Semi-Final, Sam O’Hare defeated Declan Duffy 3-2 after coming from 2-0 Down.
In the Final there was a high standard of pool played with Sam OHare taking the 1st frame and was unlucky not to win the second. Decky took the second and from that point on Decky began to take control and took the title and prize-money on a 3-1 scoreline.
Everyone there thoroughly enjoyed their day and a big thanks must go to Clonduff club and all the Clonduff volunteers who give up their free time to Set up the Club for the event, the Bar staff, those who cooked the food which was greatly appreciated, those who Set up the Pool Tables and also John Travers for organising the draw fixtures on the day and ensured that the event went like clockwork.
