A very entertaining night was held in the Club to raise funds for the Senior Camogie Team as they prepare for their All Ireland semi final. A great crowd turned out to witness the four teams – Crunchy Caterpillar Camogs, Lizard Ladies, Old Toad Footballers and Tiny Tadpoles – partake in the Bush Tucker Trails that involved the men getting parts of their body waxed, eating snails and crickets blended in with many condiments, feel fish guts and loads more. Scores were taken for each challenge and the Camogs were announced Queens of the Clonduff Jungle by a narrow margin. Thanks to all the participants for taking part, Megan Brown for being so gentle with the men getting their waxing done, Frankie Quinn for being Ant AND Dec and to everyone that supported.
The challenges were
Dare to Dive – head into a mixture of jelly and beans to lift out shapes
Man challenge- Megan Brown did some waxing
Hot stuff – eating chili
Find a Camog – hand into buckets of dead mice and creepy crawlies to lift out letters spelling out the name of one of the girls
What’s in the bucket – hand into a bucket to feel around and guess what it was -contents ranged from fish guts to hairy cows ears!!!
Devilish Dinner – dinner with a difference – each member of the team had to eat a course made by our ‘chefs’ Teresa, Cathy and Maria
At the very end people got a chance to nominate someone from the crowd….the unlucky ones were Brendan Murray, Francis Quinn, Eleanor Mallon and Mark Trainor. Brendan won the cocktail challenge by downing it in one and donated his 10 bonus points to the Camogs – his daughter Niohmi was one of the participants – to take them from two points behind to eight ahead and they were declared ‘Queens of the Clonduff Jungle’
Huge thanks to everyone who took part and supported the event, to Francis for hosting and to Megan for the waxing! A night certainly to be repeated!
